Marquette Monument

take a look at the new statue of Père Jacques Marquette that was mounted to its
base Tuesday behind the Raynor Memorial Libraries on the Marquette University
campus. The bronze figure, which honors the 17th-century French, Jesuit
missionary and explorer for whom the Jesuit university is named, was created by
New York sculptor Ron Knepper and stands 8 feet 2 inches tall and weighs between
2,500 and 3,000 pounds.
